Okay, now since our Roleplay is encompassing the entire continents... we should discuss how long it will take from getting to one place to another.

I say this because... well, it will take at least a good week (a day in RL) for our troops to get from one place to another. If it is somewhere completely off the place, like Ras to Donk... it should take more than that... maybe two weeks (2 RL days)?

The point is that we shouldn't be able to deploy immediately. That it will give the current people inside time to create some kind of resistance. This will also make diplomatic ties more important, and control of seas or air that much more important.

Let's say... for obvious scenarios... that Country A and Country B was at war in Northern continent. And let's say that Country A is in Northern continent while Country B is in Southern continent. A's land is somewhat distanced from the conflict area, but not completely on the other side.

In such case, A's distance is shorter, since you are moving through land. It should be able to move its forces both ground and sea as well as air. Meanwhile, B's distance is longer, since it can only move through sea (ground is impossible and air the distance to cover is too great.). Of course, B COULD move using air, but the cost of that would be too great to begin with.

However, the equation changes when Country B had military base on his/her allied country, Country C. This NPC country agreed with B installing military installation in its land. Using that, Country B could quickly send the initial wave of soldiers into the conflict area before the main force from the mainland arrived.

The situation could get even more complicated when Country B had a railroad system from Country C to conflict area. That will mean that the travel will be pretty INSTANT while A will need to travel into the area.

All in all, this is something to think about. I am not saying that we need complex system, but having an agreement as to what should be the acceptable practice when deploying military would be nice... like agreeing that we should declare sending military, then prepare, and THEN deploy the military, which will take time to get to the land. It will help reduce the fact that military can instantly appear out of nowhere. (Most are awesome at this, but some agreement to reduce the confusion would be nice ^^)

Yeah. I think 1 RL day is good. That should be the standard.

I agree with you, Osc. Also, 1RLday=5RLdays, right? Something like that?

Basically... I decided to just stick with 1 RL day = 5 RP days. Having vague 4~5days seemed a bit hard to define. I'll just go with solid 5.

I'll update the ticker so 1 week = 1 month, with the "date" updated every sunday. So instead of a specific date, it will just be the month and the year.

Point 2: We should reestablish the system we had in the last Tiberiam where the initial characteristics of the Tiberiam nations were representative of the world. That actually gives us a pretty good spectrum in sixths.

Communist (obviously led by Lenyo)
Market Socialist (Fidel)
Regulated market (KingIsaac)
Neoliberalism slashing and burning a virgin country (Civa)
Established capitalist (AF, probably)
The worst form of capitalism (Osc)

Tiberiam has become more diverse since I posted that, but I like the six-way split, so how about we keep it that way? Also, roughly how are they arranged? In blocs or almost randomly or somewhere in between? Another option is a somewhat diverse mix with communist countries more concentrated (like during the Cold War).

I like the 6-way split as well. Though it leaves out some of the popular 3rd world situations like hardcore dictatorships and traditional monarchies. For the larger NPCs though, this should work nicely.

I think the communist nations should be bloc oriented with a bunch close to Lenyo and maybe some other tiny blocs near Osc just because of reactionist policies.

Market Socialists states are likely (and sadly) uncommon. Though I could have some neighbors in the north making up a Scandanavia-type situation.

Regulated market should be in contrast to the established capitalist countries I imagine? but both in about the same number.

Oscal's capitalism should be very very rare. It's just so hard to maintain.

I don't know what to do with the neoliberalism countries.

Personally I'm a fan of like-minded blocs. They don't need to be situated around us (ie: each nation being surrounded by "friendly" NPCs). But I do think that Nations in any one geographical area tend to follow each others' example.

Obviously Oscalantine would be one of a kind, even in a role-play universe. Evil capitalism doesn't need to be, though. Nigeria, Haiti, and China experience some of the worst aspects of capitalism, courtesy of their horrendously oppressive governments. Such nations should exist in our RP.

I like the idea of loose blocs. We can all assume we have some similar countries nearby, especially for the SSRL. We could have (almost) all of Lenyo's continental neighbors be commies.

Actually, perhaps the more extreme the ideology, the more bloc-oriented the geography. Market socialist, social dem, and capitalist countries can all coexist very easily. Communist and hardcore neoliberal nations, on the other hand, are likely to zealously promote their own economic model while crushing their opponent's.

I love being special ^^. Corporate system ftw?

Anyways, I suppose this is a valid place for this, but... I would've appreciated it more if you made a new thread for it... or... did I limit thread creation solely for me?

Anyways, 6 blocs of... erm... ideals?... sounds pretty nice in my taste. I mean, I like the idea of influential regions, and how countries can exert like-minded influence in the region that they are in. I also like the idea of "loose." That way while two folks with same ideologies may promote same ideals against one from another end of the spectrum, they still will try to fight over each other when given a chance.

And this means that spread of ideologies are also possible, and that defending influence could be another part of "war" in the international subforum.

Anyways... the time crap is solved, right? I think I made a Timeframe Act or something in the rules archives to solve this issue... right?
